At peace with their place

Looking around reveals definition
The ability to distinguish one thing from another and
Effectively navigate from here to there
By identifying the boundaries of "here" and "there"

Evidence of the parameters of existence suggests
Nothing occurs haphazardly
There is order apparent in everything

Without the unseen laws of life
There would be no existence
Rules have their reason

Those who serve the law
Protect order from the ensuing chaos which would erupt
If the borders of law were removed
Or made arbitrary

There is nothing worse in a small town
Than a sheriff who cannot do his job
Lawlessness becomes the way of the land
Life is placed in jeopardy

The same is true of a judge
Or any other leader
Who lacks the qualification, integrity and competence
To carry out the function of his respective role

He is like the substitute teacher
In a classroom busting at the seams with children
The children try him immediately
And finding weakness, exploit it

Soon the substitute is overwhelmed
By the ineptitude of his management skills

The class is in an uproar
Until a real teacher comes in
To set things in order
With a firm way
For all those children in need of structure

The spoiled brat who petitions to have his needs met
Ahead of and irrespective of the needs of others
Soon becomes the model citizen in such an environment

Complaining, begging and whining become normal
The "spoiled" go from being the few
To becoming the proud
From minority to majority
A mindless mob of selfishness

Civilization fails

The spoiled brat is a robber, a thief, and an extortionist
Taking advantage of any system under questionable leadership
To exploit from it the satisfaction of his own desires

He will try every limit
And get away with as much as he is allowed to

Those who respect the rules
Become disenfranchised and frustrated

They see that the rules are no longer respected
No longer enforced, have no more power
No one believes them

Boundaries secure freedom
Without them, the world descends into chaos

Courts headed by amateurs
Give heed to petty concerns
Do not uphold the rule of law
Are blasphemously evil
(being against life)

They should be shot
Those who sue for their so called right
To do what they please at others’ expense

They should be shot
Those who do not honor true justice
but want everything for "just us"

There was a time when
Migratory people would sometimes have among them
Those afflicted with age or disease

When the afflicted could travel no further
The group would spare one from among its members
Who would stay back to pray with the afflicted
Leave moderate provisions
Then leave the afflicted alone to die

This was the way, the understanding
The peace of life

Today we have too many
Who would dissolve the parameters of existence

Too many opinions from small minded people
About why they should be exempt from
Restrictions preserving the quality of life

Too many people in the world
Not at peace with their place

I'm retarded because of you

How many things have you forgotten from me
How many dreams have died
because you despised me

I can laugh harder if you want me to
'cause that is how beautiful
I feel when I'm with you

I heard the thunder and grabbed at my heart
The sun was shining like nothing else mattered

(I saw an angel on a ray of sunlight)

I don't know why I thought I
could wake you
by whispering your name

Love is my most painful cry
I've strained my voice, addicted to your smile
Love is my excuse for all my craziness
I'm retarded because of you

Broken finds her sympathy
I showed her my hands just when it started to rain

but she kissed my fingers anyway
and I wet my pants right there
I was dying
(and it felt incredible)

I heard the thunder and grabbed at my heart
The sun was shining like nothing else mattered

and if the rainbow has a problem with me
I'll find heaven in the smell of your toes
stained with me

There are crushed flowers where we have been
and I have thrown away the bible
'cause I was listening
and its all within

your reaching out to me will be my
reason that I love to dance with you

How I would love you

how would I love you
if you let yourself be
the kind of girl who notices
the way that I breathe

it means getting close to me
undressing your heart
and risking everything on me
especially
the darkest part

honey stings
boiling brings purity
that's my love

fire soothes
passion bruises everything
that's my love

and there's God in my eyes
picking out
the things you hide
stretching out my soul across the dreams
you have in mind

I am more than your
first impression
aching like a beautiful
first confession

how I would love you

...

how would I love you
naked in the first day
of the rest of your life
like standing out in the rain

angels would open your eyes
and prepare your heart
lift up your breasts to me
that I might taste
the milk of art

nectar bleeds
desire feeds insatiably
that's my love

whispers burn
and poets learn of jealousy
that's my love

tear the sun from my eyes
and bathe in my soul
I'm that part of you you've tried to find
to make you whole

I am more than your
first impression
here before
any prayer's intention

how I would love you
